Metro4
With Palatium Studio Kft
Two BFS directors, Mate Antal and Zoltan Toth were project architects on 3 of the 10 stations (Bocskai ut, Kalvin-ter and Kelenfold) at Palatium Studio Kft between 2004-2012.
Although not a BFS project per se, the invaluable experience Mate and Zoltan had gained served as a solid foundation for the practice and is vitally important for delivering our current transport sector jobs.
Programme
New Metro line of Budapest.
Ten stations have been built by “cut and cover” method.
The stations meet the highest standards of public transport facilities. The design of the stations focus on the huge concrete structures. The other elements such as escalators, lifts, claddings, lighting and furniture are designed to strengthen the effect of the supports. In multiple cases artists were invited to participate in the project. The design process included all phases from the first drafts to the last details, technical experiments, furniture- and graphic designs.
